East Syracuse, NY – Police have closed a stretch of James Street in the village of East Syracuse after a trash truck, owned by Syracuse Haulers, struck a utility pole Friday morning.
It happened around 10:15 Friday at James Street and Allen Street. Police say the driver was trying to back-up and go down Allen Street when he backed up too far and struck the pole. It cracked but did not fall down onto the street. National Grid is at the scene, working on the pole.
A two block stretch of James Street is closed between West Avenue and Schrouder Street.
