Garbage Truck Accident on I-275
Garbage Truck Accident On I-275 in Ohio
COLERAIN TOWNSHIP -- A ramp to Colerain Avenue from Interstate 275 has reopened after a garbage truck crash on Thursday afternoon forced it to close.
The Rumpke truck flipped onto its side on the ramp from eastbound I-275 just before 2 p.m.
Deputies said the driver, Maurice Craig, 50, failed to maintain control of the truck and overcorrected, causing the truck to overturn and spill garbage on the roadway. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Craig was taken to Mercy Fairfield Hospital for examination, but did not appear to be seriously injured. He was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control, which is a misdemeanor.
Rumpke workers responded to the ramp to clean up the trash. The ramp reopened at about 4:45 p.m.
