GREENE COUNTY— The driver of a dump truck was cited in connection with an accident that blocked U.S. 42 near Wilberforce University for more than two hours Monday.
The accident occurred at 12:10 p.m., Lt. Marty Fellure of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Xenia Post said. No injuries were reported.
Troopers believe the dump truck was pulling a trailer southwest on U.S. 42 when the driver lost control, went left of center and struck a utility truck that was heading northeast on U.S. 42, Fellure said. The utility truck went off the right side of the road into a field while the dump truck overturned on U.S. 42 and blocked the road, which had to be shut down for over two hours.
The driver of the dump truck was cited for assured clear distance.
