WESTBORO — A Fairhaven truck driver escaped injury when his tractor-trailer crashed on Interstate 495 northbound this morning. The tractor came to rest atop the guardrail and the trailer blocked two lanes of traffic.
The accident occurred about 6:15 a.m., north of the Massachusetts Turnpike interchange.
Traffic was slowed in the area of the crash.
The driver, 33, whose name was not released by authorities, was not injured. The truck is owned by Sysco of Norton.
The accident ruptured one of the truck's fuel tanks, according to state police.
Crews spent several hours at the scene, cleaning the spill and repairing the damaged guardrail.
