CINCINNATI - Westbound I-275 at Kellogg Avenue has reopened after an overturned tanker truck shut down the interstate for several hours on Tuesday.
The crash happened around 8:15 a.m. at the 72.6 mile marker of westbound I-275 near Kellogg Avenue.
The tanker engulfed in flames after overturning and blacktop the truck was carrying spilled across all lanes of the roadway.
Fire crews were able to quickly get the flames under control and the driver was transported to the hospital. His name and condition have not been released.
Clean up of the accident lasted throughout the morning and most of the afternoon causing all westbound lanes in the area to shut down.
Drivers were diverted off the highway to the exit ramp right before the spill and being led back on to the highway via the next immediate on-ramp to bypass the spill.
Police have not released any further details about the accident.
